It is unlawful to refuse a person with
disabilities permission to make reasonable modifications to the premises at his/her expense if such modifications
are necessary to allow full use of the premises. Under certain circumstances, the landlord/owner may be responsible
for the cost of accessibility modifications.

Are there requirements for new construction
in housing?

Yes, new multifamily housing (including
public housing) must be designed and constructed to be readily accessible to and usable by individuals with
disabilities.
